Geriatric Massage
Geriatric massage therapy is customized to the elderly client utilizing lighter massage techniques with a focus on their comfort. A light oil or cream is used in order to release muscles gently without causing excess friction to the skin.
I have been trained in arthritis massage and the techniques learned are designed to reduce the pain, increase blood circulation, combat depression, improve posture, increase joint mobility, improve balance and flexibility and support overall well-being. Many clients report that they have experienced a reduction in anxiety with the comfort this massage provides, especially to touch-deprived clients. All during the session, only the area being worked on will be uncovered while you relax on a heated table warmer under a sheet and blanket.
